CNC Programmer & Machinist

(Grade 30, starting wage: $21.88 per hour)

Summary:

The CNC Programmer and Machinist works with computer numeric controlled (CNC) machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic or other materials.

Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for the programming, operation, and maintenance of CNC machining equipment.
  • Works directly with engineering to produce machined parts based on drawings, CAD models, specifications and tolerances using MasterCam CAM software.

The successful candidate will:

Be experienced with drilling, milling, turning, facing, surface machining, tapping, and other general machining operations.

  • Be experienced with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Be experienced in reading drawings for tolerances.
  • Have knowledge of general machining concepts and proficiency with manual machine shop equipment and hand tools.
  • Have proven ability to plan and independently execute work.
  • Have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience with CNC machines and CAM software.
  • Have demonstrated mechanical skills.
  • Have excellent organizational skills.
  • Be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
  • Have CAM and/or Teach mode experience.
  • Have Robotic Arm programming experience (desired).
  • Have experience with welding and metal working (desired).
  • Be proficient with using CAD software (desired).
  • Have a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Have some technical education (desired).
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

TPE Production Specialist Assistant

Day Shift:  1 position 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

(Grade 26, Wage: Starting at $14.33)

Summary:

Assists with less difficult tasks of molding and assembling product produced with TPE materials (thermoplastic elastomers).

Essential Job Duties:

One or more of these duties may be applicable depending on the particular area: use schedule to mold subcomponent parts and assemble final products to meet shipment dates; prepare melt pots with proper material recipes as determined by product specification sheets. Includes accurate weighing and mixing of materials and pigmenting to desired color; prepare molds for daily production to include setting up mandrels per part specification, cleaning as necessary and loading into over for proper mold temperature; trim molded parts; remove bubbles with torch and /or soldering iron; sequence subcomponent parts for proper comolding/assembly steps; mix simulated blood to recipe; QC subcomponent and final assembly parts using ultrasound machine where necessary. Assembly may require plumbing tubing and fittings; cast parts using clear cortical material; stocks supplies as needed; follows appropriate safety precautions and ensures work area is kept clean; performs other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

Ability to frequently use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, ability to frequently grasp, open, close, and move molds and parts using hands and wrists, ability  to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. and frequently lift up to approximately 30 lbs., ability to  constantly stand, ability to frequently walk within department, ability to push, pull, pry, bend, squat and reach throughout the shift, ability to work with urethanes, epoxies, silicones and other plastics, ability to work with adhesive paints and pigments, ability to work with chemicals, ability to frequently see up close, peripherally and have depth perception in order to inspect product, ability to handle sharp instruments safely, ability to attend to detail, ability to constantly recognize different colors of resins and materials used in production, ability to follow exact procedures and instructions consistently, ability to frequently perform repetitive routine production procedures accurately throughout the shift, ability to frequently use production equipment including hot melt equipment that processes material up to350° F,  ability to consistently meet quota, ability to keep work area organized, ability to  work independently and or as a team member, ability to perform basic math computations, ability to understand and use different types of basic computers and touch screens, possesses high school diploma or equivalent, age 18 or older, previous molding experience preferred.
