Quality & Continuous Improvement Specialist        

SUMMARY:  

Lead a wide variety of initiatives and projects designed to improve quality, processes and performance in manufacturing and other areas of the operation.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Responsible for all production quality processes, standards and documentation

Handles all SCAR (Supplier Corrective Actions Requests) finding root cause, creating immediate countermeasures and updating processes and standards needed to eliminate future problems

Creates, keeps up to date, and sustains continuous improvement processes, metrics, and tools for assigned managers or departments, supporting key deliverables in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost reduction, growth, and innovation

Conduct studies in safety, quality, delivery, cost reduction, flow, value stream mapping and root cause analysis

Schedule, facilitate & mentor CI events and follow up with progress audits (e.g. PDCA)

Lead teams to develop and maintain appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)

Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to integrate new products into production with accurate standards, labor and cycle times, video standards, BOM, MOM, video SOP, quality standards and locations assigned for all items needed to complete each operation

Participate in analyzing manufacturing processes to identify and realize efficiency gains during new product introduction

Work with engineering to define quality standards and proper quality documentation for new products entering production

Conduct operational audits to identify areas of opportunity across the business

Develop training materials and train employees in all aspects of operations, quality, lean manufacturing, waste reduction, team effectiveness and continuous improvement

Establish appropriate measurement systems to identify opportunities and to quantify implemented improvements

Develop best practices between departments (production and non-production) and ensure the transfer of such practices to each location

Perform other duties as required

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business preferred

Formal lean training or certification.  Lean Practitioner and Six Sigma training preferred

10+ years in manufacturing required

5+ years quality management experience in a manufacturing environment

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:    

Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the company

Self-motivated, highly organized with demonstrated ability to work multiple projects concurrently

Experience driving change management initiatives

Lead groups of 15+

ERP experience

Lean Training and Methodologies

5+ years’ experience in developing, organizing, implementing, and managing projects

Demonstrate experience in selecting and working with a wide range of CI tools: (Value Stream Mapping, PDCA, 5 Whys, A3, Poka Yoke, Heijunka, Standard Work, Continuous Flow, JIT and 5S) as well as other creative problem-solving skills

Computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, etc.) Database experience and CAD experience a plus

Marketing Assistant

Day Shift 
(Starting wage: $16.45 per hour)

SUMMARY: 

Take imaging photos and videos of products, crop, edit and distribute these in our systems. Assist marketing coordinators with various marketing duties and work in a small but dynamic sales team located on Vashon, US and Malmoe, Sweden.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Take photos and or videos of products; Crop, edit and process product photos; Link product photos in Epicor enterprise resource planning (ERP) system; Add product photos to engineering Standard Operating Procedures; Write web descriptions of product in Epicor; Update prices in Epicor; Assist marketing coordinators with promotional materials; Send marketing promotions to customers; Assist in creating catalogs and leaflets; Assist with trade shows duties; Other duties as assigned.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT USED:

Basic knowledge of digital photography; Experience with Adobe Creative Suites; Experience navigating and locating files on server; Knowledge of basic medical terminology and anatomy; Associates or vocational degree or equivalent experience; Descriptive written communication skills; Attention to detail.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SPECIALIZED TRAINING REQUIRED:

Molder I

Swing Shift 2:45 p.m. – 11:15 p.m. M-F
(Starting wage: $15.36 per hour plus $1 shift differential pay)

SUMMARY: 

Makes plastic products using molds in one or more of the following areas: Box press, Bag press, Spine, Menisci, Cortical, Flex Foam, Composite, and Silicone.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to grasp, open, close, and move molds using hands and wrists; ability to lift, hold and move or carry product and bins (lift up to 30 lbs regularly and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.); ability to stand for entire shift, excluding breaks and lunch; ability to recognize and match different colors of resins and materials; ability to use equipment such as hand grinder, scissors, knives, hammers, blenders, dispensing machines, air presses, production ovens; ability to use thermoset and thermoplastic resins and additives; ability to handle hot molds and product, up to 200 degrees (using proper PPE);ability to cross train and rotate to all molding areas; ability to climb 10’ ladder; ability to use scale; ability to use basic math skills and a calculator; ability to use respirator equipment; ability to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls;  ability to push, pull, pry, bend, squat and reach; ability to attend to detail; ability to see close up, peripherally, and have depth perception; ability to meet and maintain productivity levels; ability to meet deadlines; ability to meet quality standards; ability to follow verbal, video and written procedures and instructions; ability to perform repetitive routine production procedure; ability to perform all job duties accurately; ability to maintain an organized, clean work area; ability to understand and use different types of basic computers and touch screens; ability to use Metric and English measurement systems with a ruler, tape measure or calipers; age 18 or older.

Mold Maker

Day Shift 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. M-F
(Starting wage: $20.40 per hour)

SUMMARY

Designs and fabricates molds for use in production and maintains existing molds.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Manage mold building process from start to finish to achieve target completion dates; Create patterns through a variety of materials such as wax, polyester, 3DP/SLAs, clay, etc.; Determine and layout parting lines in clay; Fabricate molds from cast urethanes, silicones, epoxy, polyester; Build jigs and fixtures; Test out molds and tune for production; Work in machine shop using various machines and occasionally perform welding and lathe work; Repair existing molds; Requires working with several projects at a time; Perform other duties as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Experience with thermoset material; experience using hand tools and power tools; Excellent mechanical aptitude; Technical training in fabrication such as plastic molding, wood or metalworking preferred;  Three to five years of experience in mold making (Salary DOE); Ability to visualize, plan and work in 3 dimensions; Ability to perform fine motor tasks with tactile dexterity; Ability to grasp and operate hand tools safely for most or all of shift; Ability to sit and/or stand in one place and attend to detail for most or all of shift; Ability to consistently recognize different colors of resins and materials; Ability to frequently use mixers and blenders; Ability to work with adhesives, urethanes, epoxies, silicones and other plastics; Ability to understand and use basic computers and touch screens; Ability to lift product up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequently lift up to 30 lbs.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

3-5yrs experience mold making in urethane, silicone, epoxy and polyester; Experience creating/altering patterns by hand; Experience working with anatomical or human figure related to prosthetics, art, sculpture, special effects and animatronics.; Experience using hand and power tools to bring surfaces to high polish.
